Totally different case. Remember there was a trial before Saddam was hanged, in which he played his role quite authentically. It's very unlikely that he found a way to save his neck.
I'm sure we will see a photo of an exploded head, but whoever's head it will be, it's not Bin Laden's. The man is long since dead. There hasn't been any kind of relevant evidence for his being alive since years. There won't be relevant evidence of his death either. He was a projection of fear. To say the least.

Not everything. There are things I believe and others I don't. The whole Bin Laden story is fake. It has been fake for years. On the last pictures of him in 2007 he looked considerably younger (than before) and had a bigger nose.
If you liquidate somebody of political importance you have to produce evidence. Otherwise it's just a story. Very simple.

I think he was killed at a relatively early stage of the invasion into Afghanistan. That's at least when he stopped giving any credible signs of life. He was probably killed by a bomb, not a gun shot, so the US army wouldn't even know for sure. Or maybe he was just sick and died of some disease. Either way both the terrorists and the allies had their reasons to keep the myth of Bin Laden alive. The necessity for this seems to have ended now.
