I recently bought a record by a Malaysian singer with the lead track Bonnie & Clyde; I mean, a Georgie Fame cover? The idea is cringe-worthy. But it turns out it’s not Georgie Fame and it’s not Serge Gainsbourg either. I reckon this must be a cover, but I’ve no idea who done the original. There seem to have been loads of songs with Bonnie & Clyde in the title that came out around the time of the famous film of the same name. This one is sort of a mix of ‘Thirteen Women’ by Bill Haley, with a bit of ‘Hang On Sloopy’ and something else. The only mention of Bonnie and Clyde is ‘If you say you ever loved me, Bonnie and Clyde loved alone’. The chorus goes ‘Baby baby! Mumble mumble mumble …’ I can hardly make out a word, but I like it. The song starts off with something like: 'I had to leave town for a little while. My baby said she'd be good when I'm gone. But the look in her eye, told me she told me a lie. There's sure to be some carrying on'. Anybody got any idea what it is? Maybe it’s an original

Rocky Teoh Bonnie & Clyde.jpg As you can see, the other three tracks are CCR! Not too promising, but Bonnie & Clyde is okay. I don't have a label scan, but there are no song credits on the labels or anywhere on the cover

Mickie & Freddie Finn Bonnie & Clyde 1967 (Dunhill)
FBI Band Bonnie & Clyde 1968 (White Whale)
New Vaudeville Band Bonnie & Clyde 1968 (Fontana)
Jimmy Joyce Orchestra 1968 (Warner Bros.)

^ Thanks for that.
It's none of them, though.
The New FBI version is the same as Georgie Fame, (ie, Murray & Callander)
New Vaudeville Band's 'The Bonnie & Clyde' seems to be a spin-off from that song
and the Finn and Joyce records are versions of the film music
