Brent Records

Until recently, I've liked everything I'd heard on the Brent label. Two weeks ago, I found my first Brent 45 for 50 cents and was let down (Skip and Flip).

You may not realize it, but Flip was P.F. Sloan. He was, in my opinion, a very underrrated songwriter. The 2 Brent 45s came out in 1959, when Sloan was 13 years old! He deserves some slack.

Sorry but Flip is Gary Paxton not P.F. Sloan. And Skip is Clyde Battin. While Flip Sloan recorded a 45 at age 14 in 1959 he is not the Flip in Skip & Flip.

hey guys,

is there a Brent comp (official or homebrewn) out somewhere?

I never took to much interest in that label, but every time i check out a Brent release, it's top notch!

would also love to hear your input on great brent discs (garage but also girl group).

thanks!

The Donays - Devil In His Heart (Brent) 45 is a killer girl group record that wipes the
floor with the better-known Beatles cover version in a soulful manner.
