What Facebook groups/communities (or whatever they call it) do you guys use to buy or sell your 60's garage 45's? Or do they all suck? Your opinions, pleez!

Between the five Facebook groups I'm monitoring I found 7 records worth buying in the last two years , two of those were garage 45's . The 45rpm group has a ban on ebay links , which makes it a bit more lively . But it's main focus is 50's early 60's r&r , only occasionaly a garage 45 creeps in . All Stars group is dominated by the "mod dj" crowd , all looking for the same , selling the same . Sellers there tend to price a 100 USD record for a 100 GBP or at least 100 Euro . Personally I'd wish the set sale page here would see more action !

Yeah, that particular group is slowly giving me an ulcer. I have to stop looking at it. Yet I still do.

But I can see one big problem with having a lively set sale page here: some of it would inevitably get flogged over at said group or on eBay. Because a "right" price that we all mostly would agree upon would still be cheap compared to above mentioned group.

Well, I do agree, the prices there are way too steep but you just have to sit and wait for the right piece to turn up. Lots of records end up unsold which makes way to discounts / private deals...

If sellers realise that selling a record here for 180 makes them as much as selling a record on ebay for 200 , that is all we can ask for ! Now if I could only find a cheap , fast & safe way to send money overseas ...

THE ALL STARS RECORDS GROUP is the biggest pile of shit I've ever seen. I've never ever been interested in the records they sell there. Mostly Eurobeat/Mod/Dancefloor "Filler" titty mod dancefloor shake soul fillers. Jeez. I still watch the group, though, some kind of masochism.
Wish there were a good Garage selling or trading group, or like Mr. Splendid said, people from "here" would lighten up a little and sell their shizzle at THIS place.

Maybe people think that they would cop criticism from the ultra price educated crowd here, if the set sale prices they offered were off the mark. Personally I wouldn't criticise anyone for offering set sale prices even if they are wrong, as I think it requires some nerve and judgement to set a price. It could be too low or too high.

These days the values are easier for buyers and sellers to cross-check via the internet.

i'm officially gonna say it.... the mod crowd suck ass.... I have even wrote a song about them on my next LP ... 'I Don't Wanna Be Scene or Herd'

Mr Segment, I particularly dug your use of the word ulcer in a sentence... do you mind if I start using that one myself??

All Stars works for some sellers, but they have to 'sell' the record, or have something very much in demand.

My last set sale list on this forum had all of five sales, and one of those went missing in the post, so I wouldn't call it a success. Frankly I'm not sure what to do, as ebay is a pain, while set sales on this or any other forum seem to attract only a few lookers.

I've bought a couple of 45s via the "All Stars" group and I got them for a decent set sale price but had to wait about 3 weeks for delivery from London to 'up North'

I had some issues with the moderator of the 45RPM TRADE & SELL group. This self-proclaimed "expert" tried to set me away as a beginner. I was quickly finished with this group. The HASSLE FREE RECORD SELLING group is the most user-friendly of all the groups I tried, though their is not much "garage"-action goin' on there.

I think it's pretty hard to come up with records that people on this forum need . Quite often I see something that is decently priced , but I already have it . I was very happy to get that Catsanovas from your list before .
