I recently discovered I really dig Cilia Black. Is this totally incompatible with a love of sixties garage? Does anyone else share my affectation?

And what incredible vocals Cilia Black has! I've made it a point to acquire at least the very best garage female bands / vocalists. Here's my favourite Aussie garage release with female vocal (the digital transfer for this comp was used without my permission)

Yes I like Cilla, she's unpretentious and ballsy. Bobby Willis' songs, he wrote for her, are the more Liver-beaty ones to me.

You might also really dig the Liverbirds... should be some gear footage of them on Germany's Beat Club show. I think Lulu had the best rock voice in England though, with or without the Luvvers.

I have an affection for female vocalists in many genres that is genuine and not an affectation in my mind. Never spare a thought for compatibility...just want to keep my ears happy. Dusty's version haunts but I'll post up Cilla's TV appearance since she sang it live.
