Debris vol.3

sounds like a plan, Soundcloud isn;t visually the prettiest site in the world, but it gets the sonic job done.....so whaddya say? slowly but surely up the whole series there maybe?? not an order here, just a suggestion, whatever you choose to do, it'll be great to have easy access some delicous nutritious Debris :-)

Hey Swyne, I miss Debris!
Do you have any plans to continue the series?

Hey Bard!

Debris is not dead!
I actually have 4 that are pretty much set, I just have to cook up some artwork for them. That's really what slowed me down since Vol. 25. I'm making the cover/back right now for Vol. 26 as I type. It will be done tonight! ;)

Tho I really wish people would ask me, or post a query on this forum whenever they don't know something about a group.

---> Hello Mike,

I have a 45 of a group called "The Violations". (The Hanging / You Sure Have Changed - DOT)

Do you have any information about this group. I bought this record a few years ago, but i never found any information about this group. Hope you can help me out.

Bit late but, Violations was the group of Ray Stinnett and other ex-members after they'd been kicked out of Sam The Sham and the Pharaohs. Ray was from Memphis but the rest of the guys were Texans.

Wanted to pop in and say thinks for sharing the new volume of Debris. The beginning of the "1970 generation" is probably the most surreal thing I can recall hearing. In fact, I went to ebay and listened to the flip-side as well. This further pushed the boundaries of outsider/oddity music. Thanks again!

ooops, I neally missed'em Mario as for some strange reason I did not get any notification..... downloading, can't wait to enjoy vols 26 and 27... thanks a lot!!!

ciao Mario, # 26 offers all new sounds to me (except the great Bystander's track which was on the very first platter of my 60's uncomped-series), and my fave track is the remarkable version of the You don't love me staple, #27 tho' is ALL KILLERS (but the Sphix), exactly what I needed (fave track is the hilarious Dog Spookie), thanks a lot and best greetings! PS: very nice graphics, too!

As always, thanks alot for your feedback Michael. Alot of people really liked Vol. 27. Out of all the Debris I've made so far, that one got the most feedback.

The End Of Tyme belong on the next BFTG in my opinion!

I agree, Mario , but there's several nominees more here...btw, any clue about the whereabouts of: Playthings, James Luke & Prophets, Establishment V, Denny Lane (not the british chap i guess?), 1970 Generation, Fresh Air, Paupers (not the Canukistans, right?), End Of Tyme (yep), Offbeats, Warner Bors., Sound Hemisphere, Butterscotch, Gresham Brothers .Mel Anthon, Ballantraes, Jim Post, and the remarkable Rondeus? (lots of rare sounds, lots of questions by the archivist...)

Micheal

I can share info on James Luke And The Prophets. I corresponded briefly with Jim Miller who played in that band.

Here's what he had to say when I initially wrote him:

"I’m afraid that the photo and a few
45 rpm recordings is all that remain from that group. One
of the guitarists was killed in the Vietnam War and the band
kind of disbanded when he enlisted in the Marines Corps.
The remaining guitarist and myself are curious how
you found out about the band and the small recording company?
We assumed we were the only ones that remembered the band
and the recording.
-Jim"

This is his website: http://bassman.org/Biography.html

yep, questions like "how did you manage to find my band?" are most satisfactory to an archivist...(sometimes, I too get fedback as "my dad / uncle / ecc played in that band").. pretty interesting story the Prophets', actually, how did you find them? (and: I wonder what the other few 45s sound like?)

Hmm, I don't know that there's other recordings. I think he meant copies of the (Capital City) 45.

I found Jim when I came across his site. The link to his website is posted above.

I'm in the middle of putting together the next debris, which will be a (non garage) theme. I know those aren't popular with most people, but I find them interesting. I wanted to ask if anyone here could help out with some tracks I'm looking for? I currently have these, but some are incomplete or are of very poor quality. If anyone has these and wouldn't mind sending me upgrades, I'd appreciate it very much.
Mario.

Shorty And The Enchanting Souls - Rainey Day Blues (Combo) incomplete
The New Sounds - Tender And Sweet (Prince) incomplete
Chris Parry And The Mockers - Angela Jones (Monte-Vista) incomplete
The Judge 'N' Jury - Try Me (Verve) incomplete
Gypsies - There Was A Time (Greenwood) poor quality
Ron Starr - Lyla (Kim) poor quality
The Bad Seeds - Hearts Of Stone (TVA) poor quality
