Deeek DK 104?

Ok, we all know about the three One Way Street 45s on this legendary TX label, but what do people know about the apparent 4th release: JOINT EFFORT "Country"? Eva's "Sixties Punk Ballads" comp shows a blurry Deeek label for the song on the back. You can barely make out a DK-104 cat#, but I've never seen the record anywhere. Was it some post OWS combo? "Country" can hardly be called garage, but its intensely dark and atmospheric and I like it a lot. With an OG far off, some info could be a substitute.

Never seen a copy in Texas...and I've been '45 hunting' here sine 1975.
Was it listed n David Shutt's old Journey To Tyme books?

"Journey To Time" had run its course when I started. Doubt it's in there as even today hardcore diggers (like you) are unware of this. Which makes me wonder: Could it be a weird collectors prank? Asked Hans K if he still remembers anything about this, waiting for reply.

I always reckoned this label was the One Way Street's own. The address for this label is the same as the school they went to.
I found that out when I wrote a mini-bio on them

I just looked at my copy of Journey to Tyme & the Joint Effort 45 is listed with an estimated date of 1970. The location given is McAllen.

David Shelander is listed as the songwriter of "Country" and he indeed was
from McAllen. But whether this was on Deeek two years after One Way Street
(from Pharr/San Juan/Alamo area) folded is a different story. Pharr/San Juan/Alamo IS
close to McAllen. So maybe....

The label printed on the Ballads Sampler looks exactly like the One Way Street's Deeek.

The 45 is listed in Journey To Tyme, 2nd Edition (Revised) copyright 1984. The city is listed as McAllen.

Quite incredible odds though that there were two Joint Effort's in 1970, both covering the same song.
