eBay Fall Seller Update (Sucks!)

According to the eBay Fall Seller Update, by Feb 2017 a product identifier is going to be REQUIRED for anything listed in the Record category. You won't be able to choose "Does Not Apply."
A product identifier is a UPC, ISBN, GTIN ( Global Trade Identification Number) or ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number).

They are going to offer "private label product identifier" but whether this will apply to a small seller selling 20 records a week is unknown.

eBay's management obviously hasn't thought this out unless they're planning on abandoning the vintage market altogether. Instead of playing up their own strengths eBay seems intent on becoming Amazon Lite.

I called ebay and the told the rep that there was no catagory for records and he said it will be under the VINTAGE, RETRO, MID-CENTURY catagory. But he couldn't tell me anything else since he wasn't familiar with it yet. He said not to worry that they would never stop allowing anyone to sell old items on Ebay. Tymespan I think you might be jumping to conclusions at this point. They won't be posting anymore info for a few more months. He did say he would call me back today with any answers if he can get them.

After freaking everybody out, moderators on the message boards are saying it will not apply if you choose the USED option on the drop down menu.
If you're selling a sealed or new vintage item you'll have to choose Used instead of New. Currently you can list the item as new & choose Does Not Apply for UPC or Manufacturers Part Number.
(Of course none of this was mentioned in any of the updates)
