Ebay: Have you ever seen this before?

Just sold a 45 for $261 and then tried to send a invoice to the buyer. Here's what I got...I HAVE NOT signed up for this program.

I just called EBAY. Somehow I got enrolled into the GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM without my knowledge!!!
My copy of 65 Bars by LOUIS JORDAN should have sold for $500-$600 and only sold for $261. Reason, the buyers in the U.K. (Where these normally go to) must have seen that I was enrolled in the program and they would have to pay huge customs fees!!! The only reason my items sold at all today at much lower prices was that the buyers were from France, Switzerland and Austria who can't be part of the GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM. There is no way I enrolled in this program. So for you ebayers, go under MY EBAY then click on ACCOUNT then click SHIPPING PREFERENCES. Make sure the Offer the Global Shipping Program says NO after it. Then you will be fine. I will be checking this often now that I know these bastids changed it without my consent. In the meantime I lost $100s in sales today. Bite me Ebay

BEWARE ALL AMERICAN EBAY SELLERS!!! You have now been enrolled in the Ebay GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM without your knowledge. Every single seller has automatically been enrolled. Go to my above post to OPT OUT. DO IT NOW BEFORE YOU FORGET. It has been a nightmare to opt out and refund buyers money and then relist items for them to rebuy them. Not to mention the $100s I lost because the buyers saw that they had to pay full value custom fees!!! EBAY IS EVIL!

Sounds like ebay is copying Facebook - signing members up for stuff they haven't asked for and don't want.

Just got off the phone with Ebay again and they agree that they are the cause of me losing $100s today because they enrolled me into the G.S.P. and they offered to give me a $25 credit!!! I told them to SUCK IT! It seems they sent a long-winded email to all Ebay members and it said you must opt out or you will automatically get enrolled. Problem is no one ever reads that crap. Now they are getting 1000s of complaints.

If when you go under SHIPPING PREFERENCES and it says NO under GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM, leave it, you are good to go.

Must be due to the fact that no one selling wanted to participate in the BS global shipping program. So, the moronic suits in charge decided make it mandatory unless a seller is aware enough to opt out.

My account was switched to Yes for Global Shipping but when you click No and click apply it still says Yes on the account. I called eBay & they said it was a glitch & they were working on it. It was only showing Yes on my Seller Dashboard not on my listings.
But some sellers did get switched to the Global Seller Program without their approval, another glitch. ( Of course every "glitch" eBay has benefits them.)

I haven't been. Thanks for the heads up, I will definitely monitor this.

I've been relying on shipsaver to protect me on international sales. I've ZER0 interest in participating in that third party shipping system, unless it was offered for sales to Russia, Malawi, Kyrgyzstan, Burkina Faso & sundry other hotbeds of swindle...
