I set up an eSnipe for an auction ending tonight. I just got an email from eSnipe saying that eBay had rejected my bid because the seller requires bidders to have a linked PayPal account. I HAVE a linked PayPal account & have had it for a long time. This has never happened to me before. Has it happened to anyone else? My eSnipe was 3 times the winning bid. So both the seller & I got screwed. Of course, this is a record I've been after for a long time. Yes, I'm pissed off.

Sorry to hear that Rich. I know the feeling, but not exactly the same reason. I lost a particularly rare and wanted 45 because the seller did not ship worldwide, which I failed to notice. The snipe bid was blocked, and the 45 went for a bargain price. It hurts. :crap:

It would be good if eSnipe could check to make sure that bids are valid in every way, at the time of placing the snipe bid. If there's a problem, there should be an immediate alert issued.

I had a similar problem with eSnipe years ago.

I've been using Gixen on the advice of some of the fellow members here. It's free, or you can pay $6 a year and they'll make sure there's a backup server feeding your snipe. It doesn't have the archiving eSnipe had, but for free it's a great service and I've had no problems so far.
