Emitt Rhodes slideshow with rare photos of his first band The Emerals, Palace Guard & Merry Go Round.
There's screen shots of an appearance by the Merry Go Round on Shebang, does this clip circulate in collector's circles?

It should be said, however, that Emitt gives a pretty lousy interview. Anyone looking for insight on the Merry Go Round, or his solo output, will be disappointed.

Any other clips from Groovy out there?

The clip in question came from host Michael Blodgett's demo reel, which is why it's so short. I've always had a suspicion more Groovy footage survived but I have no proof; it's simply a hunch based on conversations I've had.

Okay, so I finally just got Outasite #4 and Scram #18 with Emitt Rhodes interviews today and all I can say is EEP! I already knew about how he got screwed by 'the industry' in one way, never imagining what was actually going on with that manager of The Palace Guard and Hullaballoo club. Now I know how he got out of that group so fast! Poor Emitt, and he made so many cool mostly upbeat songs too... Curt Boetcher's probably lucky he survived putting a move on him considering.

Two different Merry Go Round appearances on American Bandstand are now circulating as well...or will be shortly, anyway.
