I suppose there're no stock copies of "It Ain't True" (PROV 420), but - at least - 3 (!) different promo editions make up for this. Has anybody here had a chance to compare if there's a sonic difference between these?

These are just pressing location variations.
One is the RCA custom press dome in Rockaway, New Jersey, the other is an RCA custom done in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The middle photo one is the Monarch custom pressing from Los Angeles. They usually printed their own labels, whereas RCA ordered labels from a printer.
This is not a rare disc, I would estimate at least 5,000 were pressed. Stock copies are white labels with no DJ designation. those are hard to come by.
I've had all three variations, no difference in sound (unless you get a bad copy with needle drag/wear, etc.)

Thanks for the low down, MTM. If there were 5000 copies it seems like 4000 were promos, good move to push such a giant tune so much, bad move by the world not to pick up on it at the time...
