Favourite Garage Protest songs

Truth be told, with my Portugese language skills not being quite up to the task as best I can make out and from what I've been told "Era Um Rapaz" is a plea of sorts for fans of the of the bands to get along in a harmonious & conciliatory manner. Fat chance... The Turtle covers pretty boss as well.

"Era Um Rapaz" is a cover a famous italian song "C'era un Ragazzo Che Come Me Amava i Beatles e i Rolling Stones" (There Was a Boy Who Like Me Loved the Beatles and the Rolling Stones").
Originally sung by the author:

but it became a huge hit perfomed by another popular italian singer (at the beginning of the clip Lusini is the guy playing the guitar on the cover of the 45 ):

Really digging the Mergers "Unworthy American" comped on Turn to Stone 2. Great hazy organ hook, and total reactionary lyricism outta Michigan 1967. I'm pretty durn left-leaning but I get a real kick out of "right wing" political espousing from 60s punk bands. Another one in that category would be "The Prophet" by the PATRIOTS(!!!). Anyone got anymore right wing punkers worth a listen? Specifically in the political, not "get lost girl," sense?

One of my favorite right wing garage songs is:

Skip & the 102s - You Gotta' Pay The Price

which appeared on RSOS vol. 6

A notorious right-wing protest number is "Ballad of the Yellow Berets," an answer record to SSgt Barry Sadler's "The Ballad of the Green Berets," from the Beach Bums aka Bob Seger with Doug Brown and the Omens. Originally on Hideout label imprint "Are You Kidding Me?" records (songwriter credited as "D. Dodger"), the flipside, "Florida Time" was later issued on Cameo as by Bob Seger and the Last Heard on the flipside of "Sock It To Me Santa."
