Just posted this story on my new blog. Was hoping someone here might know a bit more than what little I have noted. Standard issue Hispanic, but the second record (sound included) has a cool bilingual heavy organ garage vibe...total surprise to me.

Gracias!

A nice find - early '70s maybe? I bet there could be a good compilation or this kind of unusual cut. By the way what's this about an international incident?

All of these semesters of Spanish, and I know enough to cause an international incident....meaning I could easily insult someone, when I thought I said something flattering----Hhhaaa.

Is this the same FLAMINGO PLUS that had a 45 called "Scream" (which I have)?

Is the label similar? I just did a quick search for the record, and thankfully there was some audio.
It's quite possible. The vocals are a bit similar. Would love to see the record. They both have that same garagey feel to them...

Here's a scan of the label. Must be one and the same group, I think.

Mike - will check my three when I get home this afternoon... Thanks for trying to help solve the mystery!

OK the three that I have from Flamingo Plus (deadwax notations):

CF 828 (no label name) Tu Destino/El Carpintero Colorado - Looks like a stylized CF in runoff - nothing else.
No label name or number Llorando Llorando / Tu Destino - 273178 / 273177 in runoff - nothing else
No label name or number Solamente Una Vez / Te Quiero - 874371/874372 in runoff - nothing else

Afraid that's not going to help much.

CF 828 - does the script / etched style of the CF letters sort of resemble a flag? If so, this 45 would have been issued prior to the ones below.

The other two 45s - the code is read as a date / master number which runs sequentially...273177/178 = Feb 1973, master 177 & 178
874371/2 = Aug. 1974, master numbers 371 & 372

WOW, I would have sworn those two earlier ones (CFs) would be 60s era. So they were doing rock before they switched to full-on Spanish-language recordings (73-74). Interesting. Thanks MTM! And thank you BBTD!! Can't wait to add this to my collection!
