I've tried everything, nothing works. The banner is there when I log out and when I log in it vanishes. I wish it was the other way around.

It has something to do with the browser using https:// instead of http://
Maybe you have a setting in Firefox which forces your browser to use a secure internet connection. Aaron was getting the same problem as you with Windows 10/Quantum, until he changed from https:// to http://, then it was fixed instantly.

I thought if I disabled my adblock it would work but it didn't.

It's very odd. I'll let you know if we find a cure. The only other suggestion I have at this time is to re-install Firefox.

I always look at the forum via the New Posts tab & in the past there would always be a small symbol next to any thread title in which there were new posts & clicking on that symbol would take me straight to the first unread message. I'm not seeing this since the upgrade. Firefox 56.0 on a Mac.

Michael have you tried Looking under "What's New", then "Latest Activity"? That may be a similar sort of function.
Under "Forums" there is also "New Posts" and you can set a filter (right hand side dropdown menu) to only show "unread" new posts.

Hi Paul - my only area of expertise is remastering mono '60s garage 45s. I do a lot of that, for my own amusement.
