it's a cd-r...Hell with that. For $15.99 it needs to be a pressed cd. Not the first time all of this stuff has come out from master tapes as they claim - Just For A While and Think About It were on the Big Beat Get Ready To Fly comp.

Ha!! Totally hilarious. There was a big round white circle at the bottom yesterday that said "limited cd-r pressing. May not work in some cars". Now it's gone. ME SMELLS A RAT!!! I have the Collectables cd. Pretty bad sounding.

you think? Who on earth would release anything knowing (in advance) that they may not work in some players. Is this a joke?

The Vines first CD was exactly like that - it only played in some players, although I did get it to play (and rip) in my computer drive after about 9 attempts in a row. It was from that brief period when - if I recall correctly as it was some time ago now - Sony was stuffing around with the Red Book standard to create CDs which couldn't be copied. I believe the exercise backfired on them and they discontinued it.

yes, but using 4th generation, terrible sound tapes. This newest one uses 1st generation masters. But it's a useless cd-r that doesn't work in all players and will go bad after a number of years.

Not necessarily true. I have loads of CD-R's that are close to 20 years old and still work fine, while I have several manufactured CD's that now do not.
At least he's upfront about it being a CD-R.
Anyway, I'll be getting the LP edition - I wonder how that sounds in my car.

At least he's up front about it not working in some players. Also, sometimes his releases are cdr-s and sometimes they're pressed. I'm pretty sure that my asking him everytime he had a new release if it was a cd-r or not persuaded him to add the disclaimer.

It has alot to do with the type of blanks you use, the recorder you use, how they are stored etc. More than 50% of mine are defective. You go put your old cd-rs in and play them all the way through, you're going to find alot more glitches than you care to know about.

To want it in any CD form these days is ridiculous. D/L it to your phone, tablet or whatev and Bluetooth it in your car, do vinyl at home. Really no need for CDs anymore, none.
