All things being subjective and up to the interpretation of the listen and compliers, is there any chance a new G list will ever be submitted to the forum? It was always a source of fun and a constant conversation stimulator that entertained everyone from the knowledgable garage fanatic to the newbie! I know the probability of a G300 had been tossed around, but i haven't heard anything mentioned in quite some time. I'm sure everyone needs a break after the monumental TBM task was finished, but it would be the perfect compliment to the book.

Hear hear! Especially given that the author of the blurbs on the old list has been blessed with the Gift Of The Gab. A g500 with blurbs underneath each entry would be a highly entertaining read, worthy of a book itself if it had not been for the shifty nature of such lists.

There are still about 18 songs on the g1000 list that only a handful of people have ever heard.
The Torments and the Purple Virus are probably lost forever...

A G45 45's box set would be radical.... imagine the top 50 reissued perfectly from the original master tapes, housed in a killer box akin to the fenton box-set... man that's what dreams are made from.

Well, why not use this thread to make your own version of what it should be?

You can use the TBM top 1000 list as a guide for the quality. In the original G45 list some of the legend and rarity info was inaccurate, having it open to a larger list of contributors would make it better anyways.

The new USA G 45 list will be unveiled sometime in the early months of 2013. It will start out as a #1 to #200 title list, and then expanded as time allows. The important factor is that it will be updated as necessary, maybe as often as a couple of times per month. There are plans for other non USA listings as well.

As for the design, Mark and I have bantered about some ideas; I think we will probably go with each number linking to a full page, with label scan, sample sound clips and pertinent information.

The rankings will be compiled by a mathematical formula calculation/algorithm which weighs the three prime factors by percentage of rarity (most weight), quality, and legend, as per Mark's recommendation to me.

The Purple Virus is definitely not lost. I was just looking at it an hour ago, and "wondering why" it can't seem to make it onto the promised Frantic CD and "coffee table book" after what is it...a decade now? Some of us are going to pass away before ever seeing or hearing it, at this rate.
