G45 Ebay Watch

I was the one who first found keyboardist Bob Blumenthal in 1994, and made him aware of the fanatics for Orlyn label 45s. I bought 20 unplayed Graf Zepplin copies from him. I sold most, (held a few back for trade) at the time for $100 each. Mark P bought another 20 or so from Gary Knauss maybe a year later. We got all they had except for one or two copies held back for the family. All of the copies circulating were lilkely from these sources. A few have turned up in the wilds, often in less than VG++ condition.

Oh for a time machine...

I don't suppose one of those "held back for trade" would be made available for sale if still in your possession?

Plastic Menagerie - Hold You Baby Close SCORE $746.00

Wish I had a few more bucks to spare, I would have gone a bit higher. One of my favorite tunes. On the plus side, maybe the next one will be cheaper.

Ooooh....that 45....I need it, it needs me! Considering prostitution, but being at the tender age of 41 years old it might be a very narrow market out there:D

Although I have it in my saved searches it didn't show ! The odd thing is it was BIN and the seller ended the listing early . Either he sold it outside of ebay for even less , or some samaritan told him the real value .

That copy just sold for almost $700 looks like the same copy that was sold earlier last month for $900.
Buyer probably returned it due to the edge warp. Doubt that the grade is VG++, as I have bought from the seller in the past, and grade was always lower than advertised.
When you see the same seller offering the record at least 5 or 6 times, than you can assume some quantity.

I was only told that 4 copies in varying conditions had turned up. I had my copy prior to this and over the last few months managed to get the others from who I thought had sourced them in a large find of non charted 45's...
Only in the last few weeks did I find out that the guy in Fontana was the true source. From what I know know all minus the two on EBay are all gone now. Which should only make for 10-12 copies found total. Time will tell and with the demand for this record I wouldn't worry much.
I can only go by the info I'm given and with what they cost me I could only assume that was it.

Condition makes all the difference for prices. Several collectors would likely spend big (a grand, maybe a bit more) to upgrade from VG. Near mint copies have always been very tuff to find.

Most of these had stained labels too, some very bad.
