G45 Ebay Watch

Too bad it´s oxxbridge offering it, usual insane prices. Though the last time I bought something from them they actually accepted a Best Offer of 50% less than the BIN price.

I'm keeping my eye on that Raven record. It's up to $1,025 with 2.5 days left. I predict that price will double or maybe triple by the time it ends.

bold statement given that recent copies were hard to move at around 250. but then again: who'd have thought that it would crack 4-figure now that even the despised "mod-djs" are all selling their copies...

I haven't been looking at eBay for months, until tonight. But it seems to have changed - there is no "garage" category any more, or at least I can't find it. So, if that's true, what category do you look in?

I noticed that as well...Doesn't make any sense. EBay seems to work overtime trying to complicate simple issues.

Yes, the "Garage/60s Punk" category is gone.
So is the "Northern Soul" category.

It's a bit of a mess at the moment. On the US eBay site you can as a seller choose any/all of the below sub-categories in the "Rock" category:

Acoustic
Alternative/Indie
Blues Rock
British Invasion
Britpop
Emo
Experimental Rock
Folk/Country Rock
Gothic/Darkwave
Grunge
Hard Rock
Industrial
Kraut Rock
Lo-Fi
Post-Rock
Progressive/Art Rock
Psychedelic Rock
Punk/New Wave
Rap Rock
Rock 'n' Roll
Rockabilly/Psychobilly
Roots Rock
Singer-Songwriter
Soft Rock
Space Rock

So... I guess most people will start listing garage stuff in the "Psychedelic Rock" category.

Under GENRE or SUB-GENRE you can type in any kind of music you'd like, GARAGE, PSYCH etc. It's all I've ever used...

Sure, but that will make your auctions turn up in the "Not Specified" sub-category.

Not a big deal perhaps, but a lot of people daily go through ALL auctions that end that day in the sub-genre that they're interested in. Few people do the same with the "Not Specified" sub-category in my experience.

It's ridiculous.

Have you seen the sub-categories in the soul/r&b category?

Afrobeat
Bayou Funk
Classic R&B
Contemporary R&B
Disco
Doo Wop
Funk
Go-Go
Motown
Neo Soul
New Jack Swing
Post-Disco
Psychedelic
Quiet Storm
Soul

BAYOY FUNK!? GO-GO!? NEW JACK SWING!?

Seriously? Ofcourse I understand that there is demand for "country funk", "country-got-soul" and "go-go scene" type of 45s, but it is miniscule in comparison to the demand for "northern soul" 45s for example.

Does anyone collect "new jack swing" these days?
