G45 Ebay Watch

How rare is this record really is? or is it just a craze with Dj's.?

I've seen it frequently mentioned that Gorilla was a press of 300, but I think that's baloney. If true, it holds some sort of record for low vinyl attrition.

I think the real trick is finding a clean copy: Oldsberg graded his last copy at VG and it looked better than any copy I've seen in the last five years.

b/w

Even VG- copies play good and loud.

And, while it may be a DJ spin these days, it'll never go completely off boil. Production, press, and performance are spectacular.

I thought posting links to active auctions was what was forbidden.

In that case, there is NOT a Sir Winston/Commons records up, it does NOT start at $10, and there is NOT a little over a day left.

The fourth copy, apparently two sellers both found two copies, went for just shy of $900.

Wish I'd seen the earlier 3 as Im sure I'd have snagged one of those. None of my saved searches seem to get flagged on eBay these days.

Woow, another more. I was very lucky with my copy.

Yeah, probably for the best I didn't get it, I got a copy of Searching by The Omens this month and I'm already eating wheat cheapies from a cracked plastic bowl for the rest of the month but with the other 3 going for between $500-650 I thought I might pick it up at a good price. Sadly I wasn't even in the top 3.

I thought I'd nab myself a nice looking Music Machine 45 on Bell records yesterday with a very high bid of $250 and I wasn't even the losing bidder , final bid $265 !

Many, many more still to list...

I have a question. I've seen maybe four copies of The Shandells "Gorilla" on Bangar and it has been on a steady 500 dollars price. I been trying to hunt it down but at those prices!!!! its difficult.

A friend got one recently (SEPT) while on tour in US, I know he could never afford 500. I imagine even 100 would be high for him. His wife is about to have a baby so I don't want to trouble him for now with a real cost and grade but believe it was brought in Minnesota or Michigan (Facebook has lost the link he posted). You need to get your car out hit the highways for a scavenger hunt.

Not to cast aspersions on your friend, but it has been counterfeited.

This was the rarer blue label Huns without the effects. A MUCH better investment than the Bud & Kathy!

Here are some that I was watching:

The Cave Men - It's Trash - 'Chelle - VG - $898.99
The Legends - I'll Come Again - Fenton - VG - $606.78
The Human Expression - Optical Sound - Accent - VG - $799.99
The Nomads - Thoughts Of A Madman - Tornado - NM - $787.00
The Nomads - Thoughts Of A Madman - Tornado - NM - $1252.80

Argh. Kicking myself for missing out on that Grasshoppers record.

I was also watching a copy of the Oxfords' "Time And Place", but it appears to have been removed.
