G45 Ebay Watch

i asked the seller a bit about a more specific grading and he said i was the first time in 40 years or record selling someone had asked such a question. he had never heard of hairlines before etc.

but from what i could tell it was not a top top copy but a decent one.

But it's in that coveted "VG+/NM" condition

Likely a strong VG to VG+ in reality. The scan shows dirt on the record unless it's the camera (smartphone?) lens. Also the label has a little wear and a tear, definitely been played/handled. Very few (any?) of the known copies were stock mint. The label is DJ, probably rarer than stock copies (mine is a stock).

My copy was unplayed when I bought it in the mid 70s. Mine is also a DJ copy.

Well, it´s the same buyer that has been behind a lot of other high final price transactions mentioned in this thread. Obviously money is not a problem. And since he is European, the USD is a pretty fun currency to deal in these days. No idea who bid against him though. It does take two.

That's about right for a vg+. I sell Mint/Near Mint copies for around $20. Lots of those around Sacramento.
Hmm. I had been seeing NM copies around $40...but then again, I'm not in Sacramento.

Anyway, who cares how much it was? It's a great record and I look forward to finally owning it.

Let's see how far through the roof this one goes. I'd guess: very!

(I know posting running auctions is against etiquette, but this one didnt even need 24h to near the $500 mark, so is quite exposed already - and lord knows I'd L.O.V.E. to buy this for less then 1k)
