The Mods sleeve went to the top pic sleeve collector in the USA, a good pal of mine. He has no qualms dropping big bucks if he needs a US pic sleeve, no matter what sound genre it might be.

$4,300 is a lot of money to pay for the Dovers Third Eye. But congratulations to the buyer. At least it's not likely to turn up in quantity (unlike a certain Orlyn 45 I bought 2 or 3 years ago for around that amount!). The Mods pic sleeve is extremely rare.

I'm surprised no one noticed the Haymarket Riot record that went for $260.55. Expected it to go for more based on how good of a tune it is.

It sure is a killer. While some may consider the vocal sneers to be veering towards novelty, I certainly don't. But it's not the rarest 45 on Panorama (I believe the Heirs could be), and $800 seems like a hot enough price for even the rarest record on that label. Values are a bit strange lately! It only takes 2 or 3 guys with plenty of cash, and determination, to completely distort the top end of 60s garage collecting.

you mean just like a couple of yrs ago when MT and JL were fighting it out?

honestly: are the detested mod-DJs any more determined than "us"? the majority of them certainly are less affluent than some g45-players.

Also, don't think / believe that some 45 has not sold on ebay if you cannot find it listed on one of the various auction sales databases.
A copy could have sold for cheap and therefore not be inventoried, or it probably sold pre 2007. No database I know of has kept tabs on ebay sales going back to the late '90s. The Unusuals Panorama 45 has sold on ebay before - I won two copies for around $55 in nice condition in the early 2000s.
I agree with Mark, the Heirs is the rare Panorama disc, by far.

I got my copy of the Heirs & the Unusuals in the 70's for cheap. However, the Heirs 45 is M- & the Unusuals 45 was VG- at best. I was only able to upgrade the Unusuals about 4 years ago when I found a M- copy in a Northwest record store for $200.

That's an example of what I'm talking about. But there was no rivalry between Jim and me. Jim wrote to me and said if I wanted anything, he wouldn't bid. But I told him - what if I lose to a third party, then you would have stood aside for me for nothing.

It only hurt me (money wise) badly once, which was the Savoys on Orlyn. Jim and I both placed heavyweight snipe bids for what was thought to be virtually the only known copy, on eBay. That would have been ok but the seller was sitting on multiple copies after pretending to have one only. Can you believe the seller (bubbacrumb, name and shame!) contacted me after the auction, and offered me another copy at the same price? Jeeesssh!! Talk about rubbing salt into the wound.

That's interesting Joey. Being a collector myself, I'm well aware that the value of these things is set by several factors mostly unrelated to the talent of the "artist", haha! For example, the same record released 10 years later would be worth $7
