G45 Ebay Watch

These higher-dollar eBay sales bring April to a close, and open May:

1. A M- copy (w/VG++ P/S) of The Boy Blues - Coming Down/Living Child on Frantic sold for $868.
2. A VG++/M- copy of The Esquires - Come On, Come On/Loneliness Is Mine on Glenvalley sold for $909.
3. A VG+ copy of The Buddhas - Lost Innocence/My Dream on Shell-Dee sold for $455.
4. A VG++ copy of The Answer - I'll Be In/Why You Smile on White Whale sold for $306.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think so. This looks like a guy who was pushing hard to get rare US pics sleeves some years ago. A different person than the cave creep.

Anyone know if Italian eBay seller fulvio49 is related in any way to a certain Italian cave jerk? I would bid on fulvio49 auctions if I could be sure he wasn't....

Here's a batch of higher-dollar eBay sales from early May:

1. A VG+/VG copy of The Unusuals - I'm Walking, Babe/Babe, It's Me on Panorama sold for $1,293.
2. A VG- copy of The One Way Streets - We All Love Peanut Butter/Jack the Ripper on Sunrise sold for $374.
3. A VG++/M- copy of The Ron-De-Voo's - The Maid/Pipeline '66 on Cycle sold for $500.
4. A VG+/VG copy of The Savoys - Can It Be/Now She's Left Me on Summit sold for $1,099.
5. A VG+ copy of The Sloths - Makin' Love/You Mean Everything to Me on Impression sold for $1,315.

I wonder what happened with that copy of the Sloths. Seller had only 73% positive feedback and I looked nothing had been left regarding it. In fact he may have gotten more negatives...

Mechanical Switch with PS is one example.....

Moving into mid-May, here's a batch of higher-dollar eBay sales:

1. A M- copy of The Elite U.F.O. - Now Who's Good Enough/Tarantula on MAI sold for a BEST OFFER LESS THAN $1,800 (ebay no longer shows the best offer amount).
2. A VG+ copy of The Thirteenth Floor Elevators - You're Gonna Miss Me/Tried To Hide on HBR sold for $950.
3. A NM copy of The Third Bardo - I'm Five Years Ahead of My Time/Rainbow Life on Roulette sold for $468.

5. A M- copy of The Outcasts - Loving You Sometimes/Sha-La-La on Plato sold for $362.
6. A VG++ copy of The JuJus - You Treat Me Bad/Hey Little Girl on Fenton sold for $462.

I have some idea why the Outcasts record is still in demand but I would really like to hear from someone who is paying money for it....but that's not gonna happen here. It was easily findable for years.....for <$10. Last time I found some was 7-8 years ago, they were $2 a pop, seems just before the market took off. I still have a few laying around. I was thinking of making a Youtube video of destroying a copy....along with the piece of shit 'doing the slurp' record.

I think the Outcasts is a pretty nice record, a little overly slick or phony sounding, if that makes sense, but a nice record to have on a comp or 'mixtape'.

Great band photo, if a b&w photo can be "colorful":

Regarding The Outcasts fetching popularity and high prices, surely lies on non-garage collectors. Here is the part where Dj Shadow And Cut Chemist "mix" the song, if anyone is interested in hearing it. Just bear the short ad and it will automatically play the part where the song is being used.

"shadow effect"

In this case I actually don't think that DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist sampling it has got much effect on the price. Very few of the people that collect everything that those guys sampled/used are in my experience willing to drop any serious cash on records. I think it's just a case of the usual dreaded "DJ effect", it's a fantastic tune that has got a perfect sound that easily can be slipped into a psych/mod/garage set just as much as it, if you know what you're doing, perversely would fit a soul/funk set.

By the way, has quantity been found of all PLATO titles? Could someone hit me up with a Kickin' Mustangs? ;)

Price sounds somewhat steep to me, or is this the current "going rate"? It seemed to turn up with regularity over the past couple of years.
