Has been upgraded to one w/ sleeve by now. Yours lives in Berlin (last I heard) these days, Mike. And no, it didn't change hands for nearly that silly rate...

I haven't been watching eBay for quite a few weeks. Today I had a look and noticed that the "garage" category is no longer available in the list of sub-genres. Am I missing something?

Another headache from ebay - out of 46,000 45rpm records for sale in the US only, 35,000 are now categorized in style as "not specified". They have dozens of silly styles that mean nothing ("jive" "healing" "mass" "nocturne" "quintet" "quartet" etc) with only a few records listed in each. Ebay doesn't seem to understand what categories are for! What's up with this company?!

Now that PayPal is going to be a separate company (about time), ebay is going to go down the tubes. I haven't sold on ebay for almost a year and don't plan to be going back to it anytime soon.

eBay is trying to force Item Specifics in every category. It may be appropriate for brand new items but on collectibles, records, etc they're useless.
If I try to list an antique or collectible they want Manufacturer Parts Number, Recommended Age Range, Gender, etc. Nobody searches for collectibles or records this way.

Ebay has been trying to become the next Amazon for years now, neglecting (to the point of willingly putting off) the used/collectibles-sellers, while trying to attract volume-generating pro-merchants with brand-new goods. But instead of succeeding in their quest, it seems they are rather losing their old 2nd-hand-core group (many - ironically - to Amazon). With paypal soon gone next trading-reports will make for an interesting read.
