Not sure if this has been mentioned over the 61 pages but, as the original poster has not been around for a few, should a new thread of the same concept be started so that the tallies at the beginning can be updated?

These price hikes may be due to new people like me just getting into the garage sound and fighting on ebay with another newbie for a tune we feel we must have. Not me on the Sonics by the way, but I was desperate for the Quests - "I'm tempted" a few months ago, and that was me that paid over the top. I've always been happy to pay over the top when I'm in a "I must have that record now" mood. I never regret it either... he he he

I can also confess to being the twat that just paid $1,333 for the Plagues on Fenton. I am I suppose guilty of being one of those DJ types that you old time collectors laugh at... but don't laugh too much cause I'm also stupid enough to give away any rare sleeves I get to those who are nice to me... ha ha ha

It gets even more annoying when I confess that I am just typing this to get my points up so I can see a certain sales list soon..

Welcome to the forum Keb. You've probably already read my post where I explained that the first list is a very minor one. There are only 53 records on the first list and they are in general not very rare. The seller deliberately chose mid-priced discs for the first list to avoid taxing people too much just before Christmas.

The records will be for sale in the Secret Society for 3 days before being moved to the Set Sale Supermarket in the public forum section. So, obviously it's an advantage to be a member, but the December list is no big deal to miss. Don't miss the mid-January list though.

Thanks for the tipoff. (Another gratuitous post-count inflater)

At least Keb is bidding up to obtain great & now rare 45s to spin.
Unlike a lot of the bottom feeder type DJs who bid up utter dreck that no collector wanted for $10 and then hype it as a 'new discovery', worthy of an inflated value.

I believe the appropriate phrase, as spoken for decades in the northern soul world, is "white shite"

I do love the white shite...... Seven Dwarfs and Burning Bush were two of my favorites back at Wigan... great to dance to when yer a teenager off yer head on go fast pills...

Wait a minute....... I also bought a lot of $10 records then hyped them as new discoveries... ha ha ha... Got the Cairos on Shrine for 3 UK pounds as an unwanted record that some guy had stuck to his bedroom door cause he thought the label was pretty.... ha ha ha....

My advice to anyone wanting to increase their post count and especially "likes", is to post some scans of rare or interesting items, in "Mojo Cools". 45 Labels, pic sleeves, band photos. You can pick up 5 likes for a single scan this way, sometimes. Everyone loves to read ancient auction results too...

Oooh now I have a subject I can waffle on.... I notice another late Wigan record, the Deadbeats - No second chance - Strata is not in Barry's book. I thought that would have been classed as garage punk. Is it not ???
I still love that one, it was possibly the darkest tune played at the time (1979).
