I still don't "get" the skyrocketing price for the Aquamen. It's not that good.

Northern soul crowd are now desperate to have the latest clever record to have no matter how boring it is. This is based on the "he played it, and he's a big name DJ so it must be good" theory.

Yeah, Keb, exactly.
I took a look on the soulsource forums, many are just falling over each other in quest of a copy, based on a DJ's spin 5 years or so back of "Line And Track".

With 1000s of great soul 45s all over the place, everyone seems heel-bent on spinning the same discs or piss-poor quality sounds that they think are 'new discoveries' and "the dog's bollocks".
The know-it-all clique are also dead wrong, the Hiback label pressing is the first press, not the Hirich. The Hirich red label pressing is not a bootleg, either.

Pretty crazy Money overall these Days it seems, according to the records above... Almost a grand for a G Illusions?? Has there been a quantity find on Chancellors by the way?

Don't know how many he has, but a former member of the Chancellors was consigning copies of the D&C label 45 over the past year. Seems like 6-7 copies so far. A seller lists them on ebay but he never puts the 45 in the proper category so it takes a bit of searching with keywords to find the listing (whenever it is listed).

If you look at popsike there are 14 copies listed with the same headline . Price got down to $ 258 , but has picked up recently... Of course you'll never know if and how many copies were sold by second chance offer...
