This actually raises a good point about this thread...
I really appreciate the thread and the attention paid by many (but specifically Down-n-Out) to keep it updated.
But, increasingly, people are bypassing Ebay. Now, that was always the case but I feel that the abundance of Facebook groups that have sprung up in recent years has reduced the amount of traffic on Ebay considerably.
On Facebook recently, in addition to the two copies of The Aztex that went on there mentioned above, just off the top of my head, copies of The Spades, Human Expression (LAPV) x 2, Es Shades x 2, Alarm Clocks x 2, The Bees, Remaining Few, Graf Zepplin x 3 and many others have changed hands in May alone.
I myself have had a bumper few months and I'm waiting the arrival of some of my biggest wants (The Chob, Knightbridge, Es Shades, Cave Men and Mourning Reign) and none of them were secured on Ebay (though the Knightbridge did make a fleeting appearance before I made a deal via Facebook). Accepting that numerous of the above have come from one collection, I think it's true to say that Ebay's role as the great conduit for rare record sales has diminished quite dramatically in recent years.
Is it worth recording the most notable Facebook transactions in this thread too? Is that just over complicating things?
