G45 Ebay Watch

Had the popcorn ready and was leaning back in anticipation of the bidding massacre for the James Bond & the Agents when it was ended early. My guess would have been $2k+. Seller must have received a very tempting offer to pull a 45 already over $1000 with 2 days to go.

Well this time he pulled it a bit earlier and it had reached "only" $810.... I'm wondering if he's going to relist it again and if so , what will be his excuse then .

My snipe bid was well above $2k. I was expecting to have to pay over $2.5k actually. Hope the seller reads this. :flush:

Nearly a day after the Young Men auction ended and not a word about

...how this was around for $12 in 1982
...how close to $4k being a steal these days // how filthy rich Euro-DJs are spoiling the market for the real guys
...how much the old G100 is in need of an update

disappointed,

G

I never saw "Go Away Girl" listed for $12 in 1982.
I never saw one offered on any mail order list, or auctions in Goldmine, and later, Discoveries.
The first time I ever saw a copy listed for sale was Hans Kesteloo's collection sale, a M- copy. That was around 1993 or so, when Hans decided to sell his entire collection. He offered any single for sale, however, no matter what it was, or the grade, for $500 each. A few things disappeared quickly. Probably the Young Men, I didn't get it.
Since that time I have not seen a copy offered anywhere until this past week. Price realized is well worth it, given scarcity and the condition.
Two Maltese label 45s are worth big bucks, the other hi-ticket item is a soul 45 by Norma Jenkins.
Still believe there are less than 10 copies accounted for.

Wasn't this won by a NY resident according to one facebook post?

The g100 is in dire need of an update, but is it possible anymore to account for any quantity now that sales are happening on a multitude of platforms? It seems harder than ever now.

Reading about DJ’s goes beyond me. Do they actually buy great garage 45’s and massacre them to their holy turntables?
I don’t know anything about this phenomenon. Is there anybody out there who can explain this matter to me? Help and thanks:crap:in advance

Whenever Keb Darge or DJ Shadow or any other DJ of their weight play a garage 45 they trigger tons of fans of theirs
who'll collect anything they play at any price, and a lot of them have money.
Keb Darge's recent shitty garage comp helped a lot in that aspect.

i liked that comp for what it's worth. sure, it's all repeats, but the sound quality & track selection were good (to my ears, at least)

Thanks everybody for replying. Please help me out, trying to understand the DJ enigma. Now do people rerere-issue comped 45’s? That would be sick :(
Are there garage or say sixties in general DJ’s out there who actually play their vinyl at shows??
Confused, sorry
