G45 Ebay Watch

More of a Canada g20 related, but I believe a forum member won the Threads of Fybre - Mama that ended last night. I chickened out over condition issues, but the soundclips sounded really good. A bonafide killer of a record!

A few more:

1. A VG+(+) copy of The Krels - Psychedelic feeling on Available sold for $543.00

2. A VG- copy of Flash and the Memphis Casuals - Uptigh tonight on Block sold for $530.00

Things are going absolutely crazy!!

Hmmm, very fishy bidding history on that auction. Not sure it actually sold for that price. If a guy with 3 in feedback had entered 51 bids I would have been very hesitant, to put it mildly, to bid on it.

Here's some more eBay sales from the last 10 days:

1.A NM copy of The Mystic Five - I'm Gonna Love You Too/Are You For Real Girl on GO-GO sold for $156.50. (I know this dollar amount is lower than other records that I didn't list, but I am partial to Back From The Grave 45's - hence its inclusion).
2. A VG/VG+ copy of The Barons - Time and Time Again/Now You're Mine on S.R.O. sold for $381.00. (I don't think I've ever heard this one).
3. A VG++ copy of The Outsiders - She's Coming on Stronger/Just Let Me Be on Knight sold for $172.38. (see note after #1. until Jim returns, I make the rules ;)).
4. A VG- copy of Flash and the Memphis Casuals - Uptight Tonight/In The Midnight Hour on Block sold for $530.00. (WOW - I just noticed how freakin' cool the logo is on this one)!
5. A M copy of The Haunted - 1-2-5/Eight O'Clock This Morning on Quality sold for $308.00. (yeah, I know it's Canadian).
6. A VG copy of The Dovers - She's Gone/What Am I Gonna Do on Miramar sold as a Buy It Now for $750.00. (this was initially listed with a "BIN" price of $950 - then lowered to $900 - then $800 - then $750).
7. A VG/VG+ copy of The Human Expression - Love at Psychedelic Velocity/Every Night on Accent sold for $1,125.00. (mentioned earlier in this forum).
8. A M- copy of The Shades of Night - Fluctuation/Such A Long Time on Alamo Audio Company sold as a Buy It Now for $2,000.00!

Now what if you have a MINT copy of the Black Ravens in your collection?

I'm curious as to what the "experts" think about this price. Yes, it's a lot of money, but is it in the ballpark? This record only appears once on Popsike, where a VG++ copy sold for $1,500 in 2008.

Someone had some Christmas money to spend.....Probably overpriced (it IS Moerer) but considering that it's offered for sale 1-2 times a year the buyer probably figured it was now or wait a while. Impulse buys for great and rare records in good shape don't seem like a bad move to me anymore, the older I get and the longer I look....

This was always hard to find in the lengthy and active pre-internet era (which most people seem to completely discount when evaluating fair prices nowadays), tho not one of those select few "never available for sale / auction" garage 45s. Seems a grand is about right.

Moerer had another one up for sale a few years ago as a BIN at $1200. It was part of the garage collection he sold off. It was there for a few weeks until a non-forumnite biggie (at least I don't think so) bought it. Wonder if this is from the same lot and if so, are there more copies forthcoming?
