G45 Ebay Watch

The copies were listed as Buy It Now items, and not up for bid, they went as soon as they were listed.
Sleeves look like they have total seem split on the right hand side. I have all three 45s in Mint minus condition, as well as the three pic sleeves, and the sleeveopenings are at the top. The photo shows a seam split on the right

Well, then he had more, because both 45s mentioned here were regular 5 day auctions. And they do not look like seam splits to me, you can see what looks like flipback sleeves coming through top and bottom on both photos.

What I have learned from this is UPDATE SAVED SEARCHES! Argh.

But it is only fitting for a true g45 rarity to completely pass under (almost) everyone's radar.

The Diddy Wah Diddy sleeve sure looks like a right side complete seam split to me!

The Louie Louie 45 I received opens at the side. This is the way the sleeve was made, clear from looking at it.

That being said, I didn't think that much of the record. If anyone wants it, I will be glad to sell or trade it for a reasonable offer. This is the Louie Louie 45, not the Diddy Wah Diddy one.

so does that make 3 known copies of Diddy Wah Diddy now? These two and MTMs?

Does anyone know who the seller was? dealer? band friend? it's pure crazy to think after listing one as a BIN for $250 the next one was just $83!!!!!!!!!!!

There is another copy, which is my copy. It's a vg minus (or worse) copy with no sleeve which was found by Erik Lindgren and sold or traded to Tim Warren, who used it for Back From The Grave and Teenage Shutdown, then sold it to me. For several years it was the only known copy, and that's the reason it is #1 on the G45 Legends list. Formula = one known copy, both sides great, legendary comp appearances. Of course it can't stay at #1 any more now that it's....common.

No picture sleeve was known to exist at the time. Mike discovered that all 3 Sonics (Inc.) 45s had picture sleeves, when he made contact with the band a few years ago.

I checked my sleeves - the openings are on the right side. Looking on the inside, the fold seams are on the top and the bottom, not the usual left and right sides.

My bad Mark, i of course knew you had Tim's old copy. Still, 4 copies is far from common :)

Just out of curoisity, did these Sonics 45's all come from the same seller? I tried to look up the auctions on ebay in the completed listings but nothing comes up. I've never had much luck looking up completed auctions.

Hey Mike, if there were only 3 45's released, does this mean the songs "What'd I Say" & "Pu Yai Lee" were acetates or unreleased?

Where'd you get those two titles from, Darren? I can't find them previously mentioned in this thread...

Maybe the mystery as to why the Sonics Inc 45s are so hard to find is that they were not released in the US but pressed in the Far East, just like that elusive Salt & Pepper 45 that nobody could understand why they could´t find until it was discovered the 45 was released locally in Thailand because they had been stationed there at the time. I´m sure MTM knows.
