The G45central software failed for the last few days. I couldn't work out what the problem was, and I had to wait for my nephew Adrian to fix it. I tried everything i could remember about how it failed last time, but memory failed me! However Adrian remembered how to fix the problem, thank goodness. If it happens again, I might have a fighting chance to remember the process, now that I have experienced it twice.

There is some kind of software table which gets overloaded, and has to be cleaned out monthly. We have changed it so it gets cleaned out weekly (every Sunday). That surely will prevent another catastrophic meltdown!

I'm Really Sorry you had to Wait A While due to My Confusion over Something So Mystifying. So Good to be Back Again - we're Here To Stay, and we're not Goin' Away Baby!

Thanks TJ! Good idea to make a copy. There are actually two weeks of daily backups (14 copies) at all times on the server, but it can be tricky (for me) to activate them under certain conditions. The chances of a total loss of data are very small.

Hello Mr. Bosshoss,

After the forum was restored last August, I immediately made a hard copy of the thread "Knight Raiders - Edgewood Studios Acetate," started by The Raven on September 20, 2021. After putting up a new post to the thread today, I noticed that three of my earlier posts were missing content. So, I went through my hard copies and sure enough, the posts were missing the same content when I made the copies. The post numbers are 52, 57 and 65 which are chapters 2, 3 and 4 of my story about the Knight Raiders. The chapter titles and attachments are still there, but the content of the chapters is missing.

Do you know if there is any way the content of these posts can be restored? They were written extemporaneously, so I doubt if I could ever recall what I wrote.

If Bosshoss doesn't have the original posts backed up, maybe somebody else here was downloading the story to their hard drives or phones and can repost.

Hello Mr. Bosshoss,

I just want to let you know that, with the help of Mr. Erry, I discovered that the problem is on my end. He wrote to tell me he could still see the "missing" chapters on the thread and sent me copies. Apparently, they do not show up on my iPhone or PC when I'm logged in, but when I log out, I can see them.

Oh, well...all's well that ends well.
