For those who may be interested - tune in to: KKFI.org (local Kansas City, Missouri community
radio station) this upcoming Thursday (June 18, 2015), 8-10 pm central time; 2 long-time
garage band knuckleheads will be spinning Missouri-related garage & psych sounds. First hour
will feature tracks from the Numero Group's 2014 Cavern Sound compilations, 2nd hour to focus on KC-area/Missouri artists, mostly (tho not exclusively) from the mid/late '60s. Included will be a
never-before-heard airing of a recently unearthed, previously unknown 1966 Damon acetate, one that MopTopMike enthusiastically rates a 10 !! With an endorsement of that stature, how can one not check it out?

Never did get to hear this show, anyone know if this is the Damon acetate they played? Not sure if it's a TBM "10" but it's pretty damn cool and I'm pretty sure I've never heard it. If this isn't the one, any details of what they did play?

No, that is not the unreleased Damon that was aired. It was "It's A Thing Of The Past" & "Club A Go Go" by a mystery band named THE SOUND OF FIVE. MopTopMike has included it in Beyond Teenbeat Mayhem & described it accurately, as he always does. This one-of-a-kind SOF acetate is currently in the possession of one of the world's premier garage band collectors, awaiting completion of a swap in progress. MTM has a cd-r burn of the tracks, perhaps he would be willing to share it?
LITTLE WILLIE & THE HIDEAWAYS (or HYDEAWAYS) were a popular local Kansas City area r&b/soul combo together throughout most of the 1960s, playing area clubs, sock hops, etc. Never actually released any vinyl (as far as I know) & that Damon acetate is their only know recording.
