I am looking for information on a band called Gaudeamus. A few years ago, I bought a copy of their 45 on Portafoy Records (A side: "New Born Day" written by J. Grabill; B side: "The Healer" written by D. Wright). I found it in a pile of random 45s that had been donated for a local community radio station's annual record sale fundraiser and bought it for a dollar. When I played it at home I was surprised to hear a 60's garage sound. I haven't been able to find any information on either the band or the record label; any information on either would be greatly appreciated.

However, the box I found it in also contained a copy of The Dickens - I've Got Something on my Mind

The six digit number reflects a Decca Custom pressing; most of them in the 200,000 number series were recorded out of Tripe A (AAA) studios in Dorchester, Massachusetts.
not all of them, however were done there, some are from other non- New England states.
The 45 by Gaudemus is from the fall of 1970.

I uploaded videos so folks can hear both sides (sorry for the poor quality, I plan on uploading better quality ones soon):

Thanks for uploading! Unfortunately not the early 70s sound I was hoping for. Band/artist name and song titles looked so promising!
