GERMS. MIA. (1977-1980) OK. This is the portion of the Joey D tiki bar rock out proceedings where I intentionally try to piss off 50% of the crowd. This is the point where you either stay or leave. I don't care one way or another cause I'm 3 sheets to the wind and im out of control. Back in '79 I could care less about theze fucks but now that I'm at the age where 99% of everything I hear today makes me sick I've decided to die-gress and grasp the greatness that was Darby Crash und da boyz. Am I wrong? Do I suck for my choice? Maybe? But ask me if I care?

Not getting into a "better than" debate. Darby's snottiness and the Germs chaotic energy ruled - as did a vast number of small LA bands at the same time (Cheifs, Randoms, Dils, Child Molesters, Avengers, ... ) A great scene.

Also enjoyed (pre-Rollins) Black Flag, The Zeros and (early-teen) Redd Kross in that vein...

Don't forget from the California area the Nuns (I have a soft spot for this band), Bags, Screamers, Shock, Negative Trend, Controllers, Dickies, Weirdos....

Although this falls under CA post-punk, I have never (even to this day) grown tired of Rikk Agnew's debut LP. I like his work with Christian Death and the Adolescents too, but his solo debut LP (in my opinion) has no filler.
