Green Sleeves?

Don't know how others house their 45s, but me and some pals dig these dark-green paper sleeves. The ones modelled on the 50s / 60s sleeves. Bags Unlimited made them a bit too thin for our taste, but at least they still produced them. Until a while ago. Now supply is running dry in other places, too. Apparently BU were the only ones manufacturing these and others were just selling on. An enquiring email yielded this reply:

"Unfortunately we have been unable to source a supplier of the paper needed that meets our quality standards and allowed for us to provide these at a reasonable cost. Due to us not having any luck for over a year we have discontinued the item at this time."

They still sell them in white and gold and brown, but we need the dark-green ones. I know some dealers sell vintage green sleeves, but we'd prefer freshly made ones. Does anyone know others sources, preferably within Europe?

Whenever I got a 45 in one of those greensleeves I promptly de-sleeved it, trashed it, and replaced it with a new brown or white one. I hated how thick they were. Hah! Different strokes!

Back when I worked in radio (late 80's and reel to reel automated at the time) all the 1960's and 1970's 45's were green sleeved. Because of the sleeve thickness, it was a lot easier to thumb through.

There were different varieties of stock green heavy duty sleeves. I only keep the kind Columbia used for sending promotional 45s off to radio stations in the mid 1960s. Just the right thickness. Deep green color with an almost carpet-like feel, as if something was meshed in with the paper. I don't see many of those around anymore, or even offered. There are older ones, you can tell those by the large thumb-tab top and glued outer seems. Some even expose the record far beyond the outer edge of the 45. Always threw them in the trash.
We've discussed storage sleeves in the past on the forum; I don't like any of the current Bags Unlimited marketed sleeve options. The quality control sucks and the paper used is shoddy / thinner. I like the sleeves Mark had custom manufactured, the ones with the overly large center hole. Too bad we could never make that option happen.
