Happy Snaps

I've just downloaded the available reduced jpegs, and they are indeed of more than adequate definition, but at a fraction of the digital footprint. Well done Mark (and ShyC), and thank you also to your indentured work force (of which I am one).

The card doesn't correspond to the Orlyn group.
Someone from the group, or someone who remembers them posted some memories and details on Facebook (Chicago '60s rock page), I made note of it when I saw it several years go.

That card might go with the Malibus that recorded on Quill, as they were from Paw Paw, Michigan which is on the same side of the state as Grand Rapids. I talked to a band guy many many years ago who mentioned the Quill record and said "we did another one" but he couldn't come up with a copy of it. In the years since I have wondered if he was referring to the Orlyn single.

I took a couple of days break from the label photos. I will continue tomorrow.

There is a folder marked "Updates rr" which contains a few missing photos and some new arrivals. I am uploading all changes, omissions and new arrivals into the Updates rr folder, to make it easy to get the updates. If anyone would like to add photos of their own 45s (which I do not have, or if you have a much nicer copy), please go ahead and upload them into the "Updates rr" folder using FTP, or send them to me via WeTransfer etc., and I'll add them to the Updates rr folder. One G45 member is already doing that, and it will make for an even better label photo database. I encourage you to try to make the photos as clear, clean, and hi-res as possible, but any quality is better than nothing!

Thanks to everyone who has renamed photos so far. You've all done a great job.

Hi Everybody,
I volunteered to rename the I-folder, but there is a problem with the files. Not with the renaming, but with connecting to the tags of my soundfiles. (I like to see the scan while listening to a song.) All the scans are rotated wrong. I can correct it in Photoshop, but with more than 200 files that's a hell of a job. Can someone rotate them as a batch. (I only have an old Photoshop program and don't know how to work with it.) All the other folders seem to be right so far.
Here is such a file. This way it's OK - but take a look in Photoshop and I hope you'll know what I mean.

It appears in upright orientation for me when I open it in photoshop, iTunes, Preview, and anything else I've tried. Then again I have a Mac, maybe it doesn't work with PCs.

It looks fine in Photoshop with PC. Sure you can batch rotate them, but only if the "wrong" angle is exact on all files.

While loitering in the Label Vault, I noticed a mystery folder named "Klaar". Is that Dutch for "USA-J rr"?

EDITING NOTES on K

* If there were duplicates, I kept only the cleaner copy, but
* I kept both copies if I thought there was a compelling reason to do so
* If I thought titles were too long, I abbreviated them without reference to the 50-Character Rule
* I dismissed all bracketed words.
* I also abbreviated band names which I considered too long and peripheral
* Some 45s were alphabetically out of place, but I named them correctly regardless
* The definite article was retained in Band names if it wasn’t easily inferred.

Other Outliers were solved with a rational approach, and were too numerous and trivial to warrant enumeration.

Some good Samaritan had already renamed all the Kingsmen labels (bar one); I corrected the "Louie Louie" (Wand) jpeg name, however. I'll take on another letter, Mark, if you care to assign me one.

Klaar is a folder cheated by AZ54 for the renamed photos of the letter J. This letter should have been renamed by me but he accidentally started working on it, so he kindly put there all the files renamed until that moment.

So that means it's not complete yet?
