Happy Snaps

Years ago I bought an Undertakers 45 from guitarist/songwriter Bobby Church. He included these items of memorabilia with the package. What a great guy!

I undertook a different sort of Undertaking a while back.

A letter from Vince Jan, of the Fine recording Studio, to the head of the musicians union, Mr. Petrillo. Vince Jan was in the habit of composing long letters about his pet peeves, always about the recording industry and its frustrating deficiencies.

I wouldn't bother reading that letter - a display of God-awful penmanship, I get a headache just looking at it!
I would have tossed it in the trash.
I guess Mr Giancurso could not afford a secretary or a typewriter.
Guess Mr. Jans couldnt afford a secretary or typewriter

Looks more like a rough draft that he would give to a secretary or type himself before mailing it out with all the scribbles and line crossings.

Ahoy soundog! Please reveal which Undertakers are featured on the amazing skeleton poster/page?

Aaarghh, 'tis surely a timber shivering cast of scurrilous knaves, eh ?? MTM called it , the pic is from an issue of Big Beat or another one of the numerous circa '63 / 64 UK oversize pop mags. The B&W attached pic is from "The Beat Age" tome of yore...

Two more examples of the many thousands of mid '60s garage bands that apparently did not leave any kind of recorded musical legacy. Something tells me if they had recorded, it would have been great.

The only mention of The Spyders I could find was in the Terre Haute Tribune, Aug 7 1967, which said "The Spyders and the New Madras will perform and several Go-Go Girls will dance" at the Vigo County Fair.
