So, I found this on my way home from northern Wisconsin this past Friday.

Judging by where it turned up (Hebron, Illinois), I don't know why, but I believe they were from Elgin, Illinois. I can't for the life of me find these guys to get the scoop. Has anyone on here ever spoken to these guys? I'm trying to figure out exactly where they were from. Any info is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

You really should buy Mike's TeenBeat Mayhem book. A quick glance tells you they are confirmed to be from Chicago.

thanks for the reply man. I have a sneaking suspicion that Chicago is a generalization.
If Mike's book says Chicago and there is a flag next to it, THEY ARE FROM CHICAGO. If they were from Elgin and there was a flag next to it, THEY ARE FROM ELGIN. Believe me when I say "Mike doesn't generalize anything."

Tim Warren and i spoke to the guys in the Abandoned many, many years ago, as did a few other collectors. I'm sure they are beyond tired of dealing with pestering record wingnuts by this time....

Although one member resided in Park Ridge, the guys stated they were Chicago based, and not from a suburb. They headquartered and rehearsed at a member's home where he lived at that time - in downtown Chicago. That is why they are "flagged" in my book as a Chicago home locale.

Back From The Grave comp liner notes can give you a little more background.

It still baffles me why people seem to think some record they find is potentially "from where I found it" when more often than not, such assumptions are incorrect.

But surely you generalize:yikes:

Might you be interested in selling it good sir ??

I am from Elgin in Scotland, so by my logic it should go to me.... of course my logic is being applied after half a bottle of whisky..

Thanks for shedding some light mike. I never doubted you one bit. I guess I'm a bit jaded as many non Chicago records are flagged as Chicago when in fact they are from places like Joliet or rockford. I never meant any doubt at all. I just wanted to clarify things, that's all.
