How Unknown Can You Go?

Why not? Let people drive whatever they want. If they score low they score low, that's all. There's no need to punish anybody for just contributing something. It's not that hundreds of people are starting to post tons of crap!
The basic rules were fine. In my eyes the ID rule is principally undermining the playfulness of this game.
I bet you're one of those guys who would give a trophy to everyone. There are no losers only winners. And you don't keep score 'cause someone's feelings would get hurt. :sneaky:

How about tracks off non-compilation LP's?
You could but the odds are you would get a bunch of ID'S which would really mess up your point total. Or anyone could figure out the title and google it. The songs most of us are submitting are from acetates and master tapes. And are pretty much unknown to anyone.

I bet you're one of those guys who like to send people to the Gulag just for opening their mouth.
There will be one winner, it's as simple. Is this supposed to be fun or a boot camp?

this is serious shit. next thing you know axel will want to add some hip hop..ha! So far Don Julio has the coolest song and he will be hard to beat.

My ratings are very strict. It's not that I would want to hurt anybody's feelings, but I would never corrupt my personal taste.

Both songs I have in mind to use are cover versions, but it won't matter. The recordings are as unknown as my acetate and master tape selections.

Can I make suggestion that people start titling the songs they post, even if they have to guess (or deliberately change it)? That makes it easier to keep up with what's being posted.

So this is called "Lost." I like it. A solid 5.

I changed it. Came in late in this thread.

30 days to close? That's good.

The contest started on August 17, so I take it the closing date will be September 17?

This haunting ballad isn't one of my official entries. Nor do I have any idea if it has been reissued by now. It had not been when I had transferred this tape a long time ago. The tape was damaged which is why you hear flutter for the first 30 seconds.

As for the group, I can say that they are one of the groups featured on page 1 of this thread. Can you guess which one?

I'm not sure if Axel is clear on the ID rule, which has not changed at all since the beginning.

ID means that one person has identified the song. For a competitor to lose all points for the submitted song, it would have to have 6 red ID tags.

Every competitor will get points for every song posted, unless a song is ID'd 6 or more times. It just means that if you post a song that too many people have heard before, you don't score very high for that one song. All your other songs remain unaffected.

Also, ALL your posted songs count to the final score. If you post 6 songs, the total score for all 6 songs will be added up. If you post 2 songs, you will only be scored on those two songs. So even the guy with the best voted single song (Don Julio so far) is not assured of winning. It's the competitor who has the most, average best, most unheard songs who will win.
