Hudson NY record show with 24-Hour Drone fest April 30

My community radio station is sponsoring a record show to coincide with the 24-Hour Drone festival on Sunday, April 30 at the Basilica in Hudson, NY, two hours from Penn Station. Record fair is in the same building as the Drone.​

The record show hours are 11AM - 5PM with load-in from 8AM and early admission at 10AM. The 24-Hour Drone ends at noon, and there will be hundreds of attendees looking for something to do, plus they get free admission to the fair. There will be many NYC tourists up for the weekend, and local record collectors buying and selling, so if you’re not going to be at WFMU that day, this is a great opportunity.​

6’ tables are $55 or two for $100, and only 32 tables available. We provide the tables. If you take the Amtrak, you could easily wheel a few boxes of records over to the Basilica.​

There will be parking, an easy load-in, and food and drink available throughout the day.​

Regardless, it's gonna be a good record show for a wide range of genres. And I know at least three other 45 dealers will be there.

I hate being a dealer at a record show / fair where bands / performers are blasting away. The WFMU fair, at least with the newer location and sheer floor size makes this tolerable, but for these smaller shows, having music blasting away is annoying. Especially if you are a dealer with a table located right in the line of aural fire.
Just as bad - our local show has a guy who blasts his personal fave music out of an old ghetto blaster.
Having to endure music that I do not like / can't stand is the same as being forced to endure smokers puffing away, as I am a life-long non-smoker.

I'll be at WFMU on Friday and Saturday. Sure, a different weekend would attract more NYC sellers & buyers, but then we wouldn't have the 300-400 festival attendees there. It's a trade-off.

Also, I'm not trying to get the usual dealers with the same overpriced records. We only have 32 tables. I'm encouraging local collectors to share tables and bring a few boxes. These always make for better record shows, fresh records at good prices.

Like WFMU, the radio station this benefits will be selling tons of donated records at cheap prices.

For another thing, the music probably won't be loud that morning. It could be a sitar droning away for all I know. In any case, the live music is over by noon.

Hudson record fair was excellent, sorry you missed it, I came away with a batch of good 45s including the Romancers "She Took My Oldsmobile". The Drone fest even got a positive write-up in the NY Post. I arrived early and heard an excellent set of music by Jesus Cactus while hundreds of hipsters were rousing from sleeping bags and blankets. The Post doesn't mention people doing yoga in the next room.
