Human Expression LP

After a quick look I see 4 different tracks at least from the "Love at Psychedelic Velocity" CD, as to whether these are just more Jim Quarles` singer/songwriter type demos, I dunno...oh yeah there`s a bonus 7 inch too, not sure what`s on that. It`s ok, relax, just the Human Expression, no big wup...

Aha, got it. Still, there are some different tracks, plus that 7 inch...anyone get it yet? the Lemon Drops pic is pretty wtf...

I've been waiting for the vinyl! I thought it would never see the light of day. I'm excited!
What's the story behind the Lemon Drops pic? A photo of the wrong band on the cover? That's bad.
Apart from that the cover looks quite nice. Finally the Human Expression's oeuvre on VINYL!!! :sunny:

The Eden Ahbez and Os Brazoes had great LP covers, I don't know why this label feels the need to change them for the worse for the reissues.

Some people complain when reissues look like originals, and others when they look different. I guess labels should do what they want cos no matter what they'll do, someone is going to say "it's wrong".

It`s weird, on the Mississippi records website the Lp has the Lemon Drops pic on it but on 60sgaragebands it`s got a different pic on the cover...

Yeah...the cover they provided me is a shot of Jim Quarles outside his car.

3 weeks ago I removed the picture of the H.E Discogs page as I noticed it was the Lemon Drops, and the picture had been there for 3 years. that could be the source of the artwork mistake.

This is one beautiful release. Great job. I love it. Absolutely love it. LO'VE it!:tiphat:

How does it sound? Mono mastering? I seem to recall the Collectables cd is awfull wide panned 2 channel "stereo" straight from the tapes, and this release is licenced from them...

More to the point, there`s seemingly unheard stuff on this - what about that??? Expectations are low naturally but still...

Don't know what is heard and what is unheard, cause I never got the CD. All I can say is that it's an ace release. Sound is great, too. Have to check when back at home, but I'd be surprised if it isn't mono.
The solo demos are not killer tracks, but to me they add perfectly to the band recordings.
The cover is not green as on the bandcamp site, but gold. Thick cardboard, too. It looks awesome.

To be true: none of the songs that are not on the 45s comes close to one of those. The two tracks on the 7" sound like late 60s, but they are interesting. I'm just wondering: are the singles not very rare? Do most people on here own those 45s and thus the LP is not interesting for them...?
I just had a look in TBM how the Human Expression 45s are rated. I was pleased to find they fare damn well. The 10 rate is considerably high for the 45s of one group. And rightly so! Human Expression are top-notch.
...:sonny:

By the way, I even love that photo of the guy with sunglasses, in front of the car, the poodle beside him. 60s suburbia galore!

I'd say any 45 regularly being auctioned for $1k++ is rare enough. Personally I only get my knickers in a twist if it's the original. I'm sure it's a nice compilation, though the Collectables link makes it feel like a re-release of a cd, also first issued by a company not exactly known for their love of design and informative liner notes.
