hi guys,

in the course of my obsession with the INVADERS record "i was a fool"/"cryin' all night long" on TMS i've been trying to track down the band. found some ads in the local press but not much more. did anybody ever find these guys? seems like autumn 1968 ended the band, so 1967 and early 1968 was the time they generated some local fuzz. they were KOIL fun fest finalists in 1968. record came out in autumn 1967.

i did, 20+ years ago. Guy promised photos but never came through with any - the typical result after I tracked down a group member.
There were multiple unplayed copies of this 45 around priced at $20 back in the day.

One of my all time favorite sixties 45's--I play it almost every day--absolutely fantastic garage ballads.

think so, too! In this case, the TBM rating is a sacrilege

I was one of two voters who awarded "I Was A Fool" a 6 rating.
I awarded "Cryin All Night Long" a 5 rating along with three other voters.
Everyone else voted the songs as a lower rating.
While I like both tunes a lot, I give the edge to the A side. However I don't think it is the "end all" of moody ballads. I am not as liberal/generous as some other folks when it comes to awarding tunes a 6 rating, or higher.

hi mike, i know the ratings are a consensus. still, when browsing through your book i can't help but think that it's harder for slow/moody/garage-type sides to gain really high gradings.
