I'd try being less judgemental if you aren't qualified. Try just enjoying the music instead of being a pretentious arrogant person with records who plays no instruments, yet critiques musicians.

You aren't really qualified, except in your own mind.

I guess i have my own perspective. I don't judge other musicians, but i will judge NON musicians who think they're qualified to critique music.

(I was a sound engineer assistant at a large music venue... and a musician, so perhaps my work experience makes me like i am. i've worked shows for ray charles, stevie ray, kingsX, white zombie, los lobos, etc ad nausem. those legendary musicians aren't as judgemental as YOU about other music.)

I can beat that all to hell. I hung out with PUBLIC NUISANCE, DRUSALEE & THE DEAD, GRAVEYARD V, NEW BREED, PSYCHO, MARAUDERS, OPPOSITE SIX, PROPHETS, THE TEARS, MAL'TS, NO-NA-MEES, BOY BLUES, CARETAKERS, SHE, OXFORD CIRCLE and 100s of other 6ts garage bands. Also I personally know Mark Taylor of the world famous LIPSTICK KILLERS, and MOPTOP MIKE author of TEENBEAT MAYHEM the greatest book on garage 45s ever. Anyone of which I would take over any legendary musicians you spewed out. Kingsx, White Zombie, Los Lobos...yuk. Them's fightin' words around here. Get a clue man.:biglaugh:

Just based on the people in this forum that I do know, I would venture to guess that well over half of the members have played in bands, dating from the 60's (perhaps earlier?) all the way through today. But BFD. This forum is for people who enjoy a certain genre of music, and like to discuss it with others knowledgeable in the same area. Even though I have played in bands, and play multiple instruments, in no why do I feel that makes me better qualified to discuss what I like/dislike about music. I've never been a woman, but I certainly have my opinion on what women I consider attractive, and what women I consider unattractive.

Anyway, I think "I Start Counting" is quite beatiful.
And I know at least 5 guitar chords, so I know what I'm talking about.
 
Ha, I listened to the song that started this craziness.....meh, takes forever to get going and then it sounds like.....a theme song to a movie from the time. Reminds me of this (a better song from what is probably a better movie...with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway it HAS to be a better movie)
