It's Boss - new comp on the Now Sound label

This should enter my mailbox later this week. I'll let you know.
Now Sound has got nothing to do with the Cherry Red subsidiary.

the youtube page mentions the name of the guy behind this collection: zack the maniac. He's the dude behind the 90s (and great, imo) comps THE LOST GENERATION VOL.1, 2, 3 LP and ENCOUNTERS FROM THE PURPLE KIND. It features the "Jépé" artwork as on all his previous efforts. I suppose those comps are all of german origin ?

Cherry Reds subsidiary is Now Sounds; no wonder the confusion...

Dutch dude; the brother of ebay seller "huiboki."

Thanks guys, great to know all this, Lost Generation is one of the best series of the 90's, tons o' great major label ass kickers on there; also cool to know it's Dutch. The killer Dutch 'Wake The Neighbors' comp is alot like this with plenty of hornless blue-eyed-soul-in-the-garage rippers...hopefully It's Boss will be in my mail box soon too, it's been way way too long since a genuinely awesome garage comp of all/mostly previously unissued stuff has come down the pike, and soul garage is one of my fave teenbeat sub-genres :-)

Well, it's been actually a while since a US 60s garage comp on wax, whatever its content, has been released ! Tough times for comp addicts ! (well, at least for those who dig their comp on wax and not on CD). Can't wait to spin this new one.
By the way, while we're on the subject, any news from the TS and BFTG 9 "upcoming" (if I dare to say) releases ? MTM ?

No idea, Sylvain, if I see Tim when he heads over to the USA this spring maybe he can provide an idea. He is not known for expediency...

Decent track list for sure. I like the 'soul' theme, too!

And I knew that artwork reminded me of something.. That guy has a great channel! I actually just recently stumbled upon it. Good stuff!

Great, keep us posted as soon as you get some news !
and what about Mark's comp series project ? was it a temporary desire, or is there something solid in the pipeline ????

Cool thread. I have thought about picking up the comp for the pre-Vanilla Fudge Pigeons track, which *howls*. I think that can be found as well on the comp "Turn to Stone." One of the other cuts was on Bury My Body, I believe. 25 smackers is kinda steep, but it is rare with exchange rates being what they are that euro-comps are particularly cheap. Speaking of boots out of Europe, can anyone vouch for the sound of the Kim Fowley "Love is Alive..." and Mystic Siva Klimt label reissues?

yeah, well, "reincarnation" is pretty cool. I dunno about Fowley. I can appreciate his Svengali efforts from the early 60s onward, but a lot of his individual efforts are better in theory than in practice.

Anyone who knows the people behind "The Lost Generation" series, please convince them to do a repress. It's essential stuff and too much of it can't be found on other comps.
