Hi guys,

I'm not sure, I thought this version is the Pacemaker one
and now I've heard the "Bob Dylan" version as a soundfile for an auction on eBay

Which one is the Pacemaker version, are there 2 different recordings on Pacemaker 243? Some say its from 1966 other say from 1968 is there a pressing from '66 and a later pressing from '68?

The version which plays showing the Pacemaker label scan is not the version issued on the Pacemaker 45. The person who put up the clip used the LP version for the clip but incorrectly shows the label scan.

The soundclip playing on the second / bottom youtube clip is the version as pressed on the Pacemaker 45. That was the only version released on the single. It is from late 1966, not 1968.

The first version above is titled "The Statue" and was not released until the Acid Visions LP in 1983, where it was mis-credited as "Birds Can't Row Boats" by Johnny Winter. It is the same backing track, but a totally different vocalist/lyric. We've seen this same trick used by Huey Meaux with the backing track to "Same Lines" by the Trashmen used for a completely different vocal overdub by another group.

Because of the Acid Visions screw up, a lot of people still think "The Statue" is "Birds Can't Row Boats."

The second version above is the correct version released as Pacemaker 243.

Winter is taking a piss here. The song is a parody on psychedelia.
