How rare? Popsike has nothing, I don't even know what the flipside is called, haven't seen a scan of the 45 anywhere.

The flipside is "Konspiracy '68", an instrumental.

Very hard to find, although I did have a spare copy about a year ago - it was in G-minus condition, but played much better

I had a g+ with torn labels copy for years. Then I bought a vg++ or near mint copy on eBay about 2 years ago, from Jeff if I remember correctly. It was 6 or 8 hundred bucks, I can't remember which. Anyway, I was very happy to pay that price for such a nice copy.

Yes, I was the one who sold it. I just looked it up -- $673 in February 2006. I got it at Antone's back in the 90s. while attending SXSW. I think it cost me $8.

If anyone is still following this, I am putting a copy of Kandy Kolored Konspiracy (Media 007) up on eBay this week. It is graded VG-. Take a look and listen.

David Shutt only offered this for sale once, I think. There was no quantity find. It's rare.

I tried to have a go at the lyrics. Here's the best I can do:

Time's not the same
and the world isn't really round
If you look, you will see
all is shattered on the ground
But you know what they sayin'
That they don't realize
It's all the same
They don't care about the truth or the lies

(chorus)
I see one million people, but I cry
I cry, but they don't care
I know the world is evil, girl
The times are here and now they're gone
But they don't care

Well I see reality is just an imperfection of the mind
What they do, and what they say is locked in a velvet wall of time
All they have is their lies and their cotton candy alibis
They'll never know what I see,
and a multi-colored melody

I see one million people, but I cry
I cry, but they don't care
I know the world is evil, girl
It always takes a long, long time
For the satisfaction of the mind
They'll push you down and pull you out
They'll tell you jump around and they don't care how high (?)
Misunderstanding is everywhere

----

The vocals are strong, but these inept lyrics veer into song-poem territory. I'm not sure why seeing one million people moves the singer to tears. Is it because they're evil? Or is it because they don't care that you're crying? I don't care either. Make that one million and one. The second verse almost saves the lyrics but then shoots itself with "multi-colored melody." Having established that society is comprised of liars, we need a more forceful resolution to that observation than a quote from "The Music Man."

On top of this is a boring verse/chorus/verse/chorus structure. No bridge or instrumental break.

Rhyming "people" with "evil" was mildly clever.

I give this one and a half stars, one for the vocals and an extra half-a-star for the band name. If they ever actually performed in public with that name, I'd be willing to bump it up another star.

I liked the flipside aswell, only heard a snippet from the Ebay auction.

Gary Anderson (far right) was in the the band. Apparently the only Ppcture of anyone related to the band.

I don't know about a boring structure, the build up to the chorus and shift in chords is a phenomenal sound.

I'm getting some of the story from Gary as we speak.

Spent a little more on this than I wanted but its my birthday next week and I've been a very good boy since becoming a parent, I've barely bought a dozen singles in 9 months. Another of my faves is up on ebay just now too. Don't tell the wife.
