kids on acid?

.. as I'm preparing a kiddie garage comp....any chance to get the entire tune? and some info maybe?

Interesting label. My dad's family lived in Lapeer, MI and my cousin Gary there was
the lead guitarist for 'The Frats' (one 45 on Washington Square Records). I can ask
him if he's heard of this group.

The group members have been found / tracked / sourced / interviewed.
There are no copies to be had.
The person who has the only copy provided me with both sides in full for TBM archiving asked that I do not share this, precisely for this example, and I will obey. The pertinent info will appear in the new book.

What a shame, really...of course i would obey, too, I'm just wondering why, the soundclip entices me... a lost gem, I'm afraid

I should add, I don't mean to say that I mean Moptop Mike when I say "if it were me", your position is correct and noble, I just mean if I had the rights and was a responsible party, I would allow it to be accessed on-line.

The person who has this 45 outbid me for the only known copy. I've never met him but he is a genuine fan who wants to share under the right circumstances - meaning it could be on an upcoming garage punk unknowns comp or as a stand-alone 45rpm reissue.
I really wanted to have both sides rated for Beyond Teenbeat Mayhem, and I agreed not to share the tunes - I only made edited / non full length clips for the cabinet members to rate for the vote session.

A predictable, spoiled 5 year old brat type response. Perhaps your parents failed to instill an important facet of life during your formative years: You cannot "have" everything you want.
Or, in this example, "hear".

This is a record that likely no one will ever get to hear in its full (one copy, right?).
If this was available by loads it would be a different story. This is childish snobbery
on high levels.
I'm not whining on YOU, rather the owner of the said disc.

I just found a completely unknown KYLLER MONSTER garage 45 yesterday (one known copy). It's so RAW and should be on the next Back From The Grave!!! But guess what, I'm gonna keep it to MYSELF, because it's makes me a LOT cooler than you other grown high school men. You will NEVER hear it. Your loss, lames.

I agree with you 100% that music should be shared and enjoyed by all (and I hate the childish collector mentality of those who want to raise their pathetic self-esteem by keeping others from hearing their rare 45s/acetates), but if the guy is seriously considering an official reissue, then there's no reason he should be sharing the songs right now.

But seriously. This is a forum with garage punk fanatics. Many of us has been on this and the other
board for 10+ years. It makes a whole lot of sense to ask for a listen to a new discovery.

But it'll NEVER HAPPEN. There was a gag order issued on the Purple Virus 45 in 2003.
Ever heard of it since?
