On the night of Ash Wednesday 2010 Gabe of Austin's great Breakaway Records and J. Chronis sat on the couch in the record room at Rancho Westex talking Texas records. When you talk Texas labels talk eventually hits the legendary and mysterious Mark VII label which we did. I basically challenged Chronis to track the label and it's bands.

I suppose this Knights Bridge Quintet piece might be considered part I of the North Central Texas scene of the 1960s.

Can't wait for the Zeljians' story. It was 6 or 7 years ago at about this time when I found a copy of that great record in a southeast Texas antique shop. For $3.

I find it amazing that there is no less than three different pressings of this record and it's still nearly impossible to locate any of them. Never seen the TRC pressing before this scan.
