Label Comps

Harold is planning the MY label comp, plus there are unissued songs. He had planned to do it before Gear Fab did Arkansas as part of the series.
Last I knew the Cha Cha stalled out because the label owner Don De Lucia insisted that Norton include some really lame pop sides as part of the contract.

My (in Arkansas) needs to be done up right (will be forthcoming on vinyl!) Skoop / Showboat from Indiana; Top Dog/Boss (from Kentucky); JCP, Studio City; Century Custom (that would be an interesting comp!)

Skoop/Showboat based out of Santa Claus, Indiana (about an hour from where I live); never found a damned one of those 45s in the wild. That's a set I'd enjoy!

I found the owner of Tennalaga a few years back and I also located one of the EXPRESSIONS who sent me 2 really cool shots of the band. The label owner said go for it but he never came up with the tapes or memorabilia that he says is in his daughters house in Florida. I'd still do it if I can get Mikey and Mark to burn me copies offa their clean 45s. I could design a cover from the EXPRESSIONS 8X10'S.

I only have one Tennalaga 45, and it's the least of the 3 (but still great) "Jordan Land" by the Kids. But if you could find the other 2 for me Joey, I would make the most wonderful transfers for you. :D And how about finding a copy of "Just Too Much" "She Gives Me Time" as well? It's from CA and I have a lead that you could follow up...(I tried and got nowhere).

When you find those 3 discs, and sell them to me...you will become universally lauded as the GOD of all record sleuths.:cool:

Doesn't Mikey have the other 2 Tennys? And if I add the SONS OF SOUND & THE BOBBIES (zero copies found of each) both on Ikon, may I visit THE VAULT?!!!

If you can find those 5 45s for me, I'll fly you out to Rose Bay for a personal guided tour, and to unveil your "Joey D is God" Vault Plaque!

I'd like to see a comp combining two great labels from Texas: Mark VII & Pharaoh or Paris Tower (Florida)

The idea of a homegrown Mark VII project has been thrown around since most of the untrackable groups have been tracked in the past 2 years. I think there's just one or two who haven't been found as of yet. Fingers crossed...

Century Custom (that would be an interesting comp!)

I was thinking about this one reading an article in Ugly Things (probably) about the stuff that came out this way... you'd probably have to do a bunch of different theme comps with this but I'd probably buy all of them!

Get Hip was supposed to release the Musicol collection but it never happened.

that woulda ruled if they were realy serious about quality control....theres a buncha stuff on there thats non garage/teenbeat right? and i think(?) the soul stuff asociated with that label has alrerady gotten the Numreo Group treatment

An obvious choice for me would be that Fleetwood is long overdue...Aside from the obvious 45's that we all know and love, there are a couple of great albums that could be culled from...Maybe MTM and Mr Buckeye could ask Mr Sound City for some assistance, hahahaha!

I would also have to get a Roman/Red Leaf comp if just for that stupid Long Tall Sally cover by the Paupers, wonder if there's anything interesting in the Duff Roman vault?
