Let's guess the tracklist for the new Teenage Shutdown!

I still need 'move it' to complete my collection, I have the rest on vinyl, but have the latter on cd.... the completist in me, needs 'move it' on vinyl, despite the fact in my opinion it's the worst in the TS series.

I got most of my TS actually from Tim Warren, when I went on a vacation to New York about 5 years ago.... the pound was strong against the dollar and I went nuts in Crypt.

I hope that some of the new TS comps do have stuff which has been comped before and are better quality.... I'd love to be able to hear stuff like The Mojos - Love Does It's Harm in better quality compared to the New England Teen Scene's of old.

regardless.... I am really looking forward to the new Teenage Shutdowns.

For every person that wants a song already comp'd, there are five who will complain and whine that they already "have this song!" on a comp. Believe me, that is the crowd that shouts the loudest.
So far Tim has selected just two songs that have appeared on inferior sounding comps. I agree with him, that at this stage, it is best to hear uncomp'd sides if they have the sound.

I couldn't agree more!

Yeah, I'd rather hear un-compiled stuff rather than hear something I've already heard elsewhere. I can't wait to hear the final product! :)

Malibalavi - "Whipping Boy" (Black Patch) - cool TX mid paced grinder
The Lords - "She's Mine" (Vance) - an absolute must, but my copy is pretty bad - 2 known copies
Missing Lynx - 13 Reasons (Lynx) - graveworthy grind - absolute must
Another disciple of that Missing Lynx record!! I finally got my copy, Mark, very cheap at an Alabama record show!

The Irresistable Urge - "Why Shouldn't I"
The Jesters - "Just Let Me Love You" (Qualicon) - beyond cool!
The Jesters - "I'll Laugh At You" (Qualicon) - flipside of above - and just as good!

I would love to find a decent copy of the Jesters. Mine is hacked. Monster trades available for anyone who has a spare vg+!
And if you get that monster trade, I'll gladly buy that copy back from you, Mark!

Just can't wait for the new comps Alec Paleo is assembling (curious about the Lords' song), just like the new a jangly moody new Teenage Shutdown!
AZ54

speaking of the Nightmares... canadian comp, if thats outta print, how about reissusing some of these on the next T.S.:

The Royal Family - 'Solitude'
Skaliwags - '365 Days'
or
Underworld - 'Bound'

I am late getting into this conversion but am really happy to hear that there will be some new Teenage Shutdowns!!!! Also happy to hear that there will be re-pressings of the other volumes on vinyl. I did not buy them all when they came out. When the first batch hit the stores I was on tour on the west-coast so I bought them on CD to listen to in the car then completed the series run on CD. By the time I started to get the vinyl versions some had become difficult to find already so I only half of them on the preferred format.

I have all the CD versions of TSD. I would like to hear all uncomped material if possible. But please, no more versions of Hey Joe, Gloria, I'am A Man.....etc, sick to death of those songs

The jangle edition of TS is still in my opinion the greatest selection of songs ever compiled on a single-themed source. I more than welcome future volumes.

Amen to that! Teen Jangler Blowout is a MONSTER, start to finish, and Nobody To Love (TS vol 5, aka the other jangler volume)) was the first TS i ever bought - it a welcome surprise to finally see a solid folk-punk/folk garage comp (i dont count stuff like I Can Hear Raindrops, Shutdown 66, etc. as folk punk). Actually, Nobody To Love may hev been the first folk punk comp i ever remember even hearing about, unless you count that terrible sounding/obscure Moxie folk rock e.p. from the 80's

Just included on the third volume of the Psychedelic States series dedicated to New York

Is the same band who released "One Of These Days" on Zero?

OK, go with the unknown stuff but what's about cuts which were already comped (wasn't one of the purpose of the TS series make available and improve soundwise "many "famous" 45's that sound like s*** on older comps")?
Here is a few tracks I'd like to see included:

John English III - I Need You Near (is this the right time?)
Circus - Burn Witch Burn
Whatt Four - Our Love Should Last Forever
Mojos - Go
Id - Rotten Apple
Whatt Four Our Love is coming out on the L.A. Garage cd on Ace next year from masters

That sounds plausible.

Krels - "Psychedelic Feelin'" - (Available)
Jonathan - "The Mummy" (McKinnon) - was once on Grave 9 shortlist
Kaleidoscope Machine - Why

Could I trouble Brother Hoss with some more BFTG 9 shortlist cuts? I'm kinda salivatin' here!
Heck, what can we do to make TW release that fucker? I need it, damn it! He can write me up for one case, just for me!

I don't have the list any more Mr. de Parade. Even if I did, I wouldn't reveal it in detail, since Tim may still be planning something similar.
Anyway, it was a long time ago, before the forum comps, and various other comps which have now used many of the proposed tracks. For example, the Thorns acetate was a contender.

Sick And Lonely - IV Bidden
I Want You - Thorns
Lookin' For Girls - Pharaos
Hey Little Girls - Thunderbirds
It's Me Not You (Lemco) - The Torque's
Now She's Left Me - Savoys
Life Of My Own - Loved Ones
I Need Your Lovin' - The Vikings
I Need You Near - John English III & The Heathens
I Don't Want To See You - Blue Embers
All I Really Want (twin-spin) - The Tempo's
Little Girl Gone (Cha-Cha) - Mogen David & The Grapes Of Wrath
It's Your Choice - (Sellars acetate version)
Carol - Krystal Tones
All I Want - Page Boys
She's So Satisfying - Apparitions

Wasn't this listing proposed on the garagepunk forum, a little while ago for BFTG 9?
